Celebrating
World Environment Day 2012 under the patronage of UNESCO and in cooperation
with UNIDO and UNEP, ENERGY GLOBE launched on 5 June 2012 a unique online
campaign.
We proudly
present exciting and sustainable projects by national ENERGY GLOBE Winners from
151 different countries around the world. Selected from over 6,000 submissions,
we showcase the most exceptional projects and solutions for many of our
environmental problems – initiatives that will ensure survival for many more
people in the world, projects that will protect our environment, and solutions
for offering more hope.
Nevertheless
we also want to provide support to each and every one in finding solutions to
energy issues in their own sphere. How? By helping individuals recognize the
many benefits to themselves – especially in view of the fact that all the
necessary technologies are already available.
Therefore –
as part of this unique global online campaign – we are offering free online
tools for assessing solar energy options or for lowering or optimizing energy
consumption in individual homes or apartments. One of the biggest challenges
for the future will lie in managing energy issues. Industrial countries will
need to optimize their energy consumption, while solar energy will provide
emerging countries with greater opportunities for the future.
We want to
provide answers to the most important questions of our times, at the same time
helping people make their own contributions. Every contribution counts and is
welcome, no matter how big or how small!
